We are thrilled to share with you that the Nancy Gardner Sewell Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act (H.R. 842) / Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act (S. 339) has been reintroduced in the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Last Congress, members of the House and Senate were moved by the over 500 signatories on the letter in support of the legislation.
This legislation reached incredible new heights in the 118th Congress. Support from policymakers grew to nearly 400 bipartisan, bicameral cosponsors. The bill was unanimously and enthusiastically passed by the House Ways and Means Committee, and it received support for enactment from the four corners of Congressional leadership. We’re looking to them to get this done at the first opportunity in the 119th Congress, and reintroduction is a tremendous step demonstrating commitment from the bill’s lead sponsor champions. We are honored to work with them toward ensuring Medicare beneficiaries have access to innovative tests that can detect cancer at earlier, more treatable stages.
